Excellent bag with loads of space

Took this bag to 3 festivals and 1 surf/camping trip. It held everything I need to take - tent, sleeping bag, airbed and all my clothes with space to spair which was very handy as I was travelling by public transport. Material held up well and still has no rips or tears. The shoulder straps are a little uncomfortable on long hauls so if you're looking for a backpackers back pack, buy a backpackers backpack. Otherwise I can't fault it!

Excellent bag, would recommend for diving trips.
Strong. Good handles. Clever pockets inside. The elastic to compress the bag is attached

Used for a CCR two week diving trip to Malta, it survived the outbound and the inbound with 27kg of kit coming home. Really glad I got this bag. It is study and very well priced IMHO.

All our backpacks are tested in the field by users who represent the target market under conditions identical to those found in typical use. Our Field Test Missions team up our product managers with people not affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.
We test the rucksack in laboratories and in the field, for resistance to abrasion, tearing, UV colour-fastness; washing, waterproofing. A dummy reproduces the ageing of a weighted bag over the years, with a quick walking movement over millions of cycles, to check the strengths of assemblies. Components (fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zips, etc) are also tested separately, enabling us to guarantee these bags 10 years.

Restricted use
Not waterproof; protect your belongings in case of rain.

Backpack technical tests.
Components are approved in laboratory tests, including: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zips etc. For fabrics: resistance to wear, tearing, UV colour fastness, washing, waterproofing, etc. Then a test on the finished product simulates, at accelerated speed, the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: The backpack is weighted, then placed on a dummy which reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
Environmental measurements
Oxylane, together with Quechua, has decided to inform you of the environmental impact of its hiking backpacks over their entire lifespan. This work follows an experiment that began in July 2011 with the French Ministry of Ecology. Scores ranging from A to E were awarded based on comparisons between Quechua's backpacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale
