Our design team is based at the foot of Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.
protecting your hands from the cold during your lowland hikes.
Dry maintenance. Do not wash with water, do not tumble dry.
Store in a clean and dry place
The body produces heat during exercise, which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothes are not specially adapted, the body cools down, and the blood flow through the hands decreases in order to retain the warmth in the central core. The gloves and clothing should therefore be adapted for use to keep hands comfortable. If you're not sure, it's always best to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
Recommended temperature = 4°C
Corresponds to the ambient temperature for which 100% of testers judge the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is 4°C for Arpenaz 900 women's gloves.
Limit temperature = -2°C
Corresponds to the ambient temperature for which 90% of testers judged the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is -2°C for Arpenaz 900 women's gloves.
How is the use temperature measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum usage temperatures. The minimum use temperatures (recommended and limits) are based on a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in walking situations exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and wind of 10 km/h. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
Dexterity of the glove
The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been scored in the laboratory on a scale of 1 to 5. The nearer the glove's dexterity rating gets to 5, the closer the manipulation when wearing the glove gets to that of a bare hand. In particular, we tested the ability to easily put on and open your jacket.
