    Forclaz 30L Air Hiking Backpack
Comfort, robust construction and function. Nothing whatsoever.

This bag is a good size for all manner of day activities and it can swallow standard day kit with room to spare - beneficial if taking small people out on adventures. I'll load it with a bivvy-bag, first aid kit, bothy-bag, spare clothing, thermal and wet weather layers, food, water and flask, spare hats, gloves, etc and still find room for anything the day's plan requires (such as my eldest's metal detector or the youngest's soft toy that always gains weight during a walk). The load bearing system offers a good close fit for scrambling without compromising the back ventilation. Straps, clips and zips are easy to use even with gloves/mittens and the mesh side pouches retain their contents reliably. A very good bit of kit that challenges the fashionista label concept.

Tips

Care instructions
To ensure fabrics maintain their properties (particularly the waterproofing), we do not recommend washing them in the washing machine, tumble drying them, dry-cleaning them or using bleach. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, use warm soapy water and a brush if needed. After a few years of use, you should renew the water repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.
Storage Tips
Store your back in a dry place.
Restricted use
Not waterproof; protect your belongings in case of rain.

Features

Laboratory test
We carry out laboratory tests to check components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips....For example for fabric: abrasion-resistance, wear and tear, colour retention in the sun, resistance to washing, waterproofing...And a finished product undergoes an accelerated real-life situation test, representing the use of the product over the years in order to check the resistance of the seams:we fill the product with ballasts, put it on a model and simulate the fast walking movement on 1000 of cycles.
10-year technical partnership guarantee
The heavy stitching research and development department, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. As a result of these tests, Quechua can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
10-year guarantee, conditions
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee will only be granted upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.
How is volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container which provides the equivalent volume in litres with a tolerance ranging a couple of %.
How to adjust your backpack?
Place sleeping equipment at the bottom.Place heavy materials close to your back (tent, camping stove, food). Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
Environmental measurements
The environmental impact of the product is calculated for the entire life cycle of the product and using different indicators. An ABCDE score is applied to help you easily identify the most environmentally-friendly products when comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of the environmentally-friendly labelling approach. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
