INNOVATION: a hybrid glove adapted to each part of the hand
A hybrid glove which incorporates different materials across the different hand sections: a softshell material on the back to block the wind, smooth fleece material on the palm to facilitate hand movement, synthetic reinforcement on the palm for a better grip, a tight-fitting synthetic reinforcement on the palm for better gripping, with elastane, which slips easily under the jacket sleeves.
The body produces heat during exercise, which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothing is unfit for this purpose, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to keep the central core warm. The gloves and clothing should therefore be adapted for use to keep hands comfortable. If you're not sure, it's always best to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
Recommended temperature = 2°C
Suited to the ambient temperature for which 100% of testers judge the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is 2°C for Forclaz 300 hybrid gloves.
Limit temperature = -3°C
Suited to the ambient temperature for which 90% of testers judge the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is -3°C for Forclaz 300 hybrid gloves.
How is the use temperature measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum usage temperatures. The minimum use temperatures (recommended and limits) are based on a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in walking situations exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and wind of 10 km/h. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
