protection from the cold on your MOUNTAIN HIKES.
Looking after a sleeveless down jacket requires special care. We recommend using a dry cleaning specialist to care for your gilet. Washing: Machine washable at 30°C; add two tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic programme with three tennis balls to ventilate the down; Put it through several cycles until the down has dried completely otherwise it may clump and lose its insulating properties. Please see the care instructions on the internet
Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place
Not suitable for mountain hiking in rainy weather
Inflating power of down/feather filling
This 85/15 padded gilet has a guaranteed minimum fill power of 660 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The durable and inflating properties of the down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-light weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This allows you to lighten the load in your backpack - Ultra compactable * Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat; we remove their feathers after slaughter. We hold the death certificates for these ducks
Care advice for a sleeveless jacket with down and feather filling
The sleeveless down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the link below: <a href="http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.quechua.fr/sites/quechua_com/files/image-entretien-doudoune.jpg" alt="How to wash and dry your down jacket"><br>http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket</a>
The benefits of a sleeveless down jacket
A sleeveless down jacket helps to keep the body warm: it protects the chest, neck and kidneys - which are particularly sensitive to chills - from the cold. Being sleeveless it lightens the load in your backpack while providing even greater breathability during exercise and excellent comfort during movement when worn under a jacket. The sleeveless down jacket is therefore especially advantageous during high exertion while hiking.
