    Excellent jacket at excellent price

The jacket delivered on all its claims. It is indeed waterproof and windproof, and the hood is especially well done as it didn't come off despite the wind blowing at me in my face. I am a petite lady so the 14-year-old size fits me perfectly and there was room for a fleece underneath too. I am seriously considering buying this jacket in a different colour - the jacket is this good!

Storage Tips
Keep on a hanger or folded in a clean, dry place.
Restricted use
Keep away from all heat sources.

Waterproofing of the component
The resistance of a fabric is measured using water pressure expressed in water column mm (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with 5000mm waterproof rating can therefore withstand the pressure of a 5000mm column of water (which is approximately equivalent to a 5-hour rain shower). Waterproofing is expressed in schmerbers (for example: 5000 schmerbers).
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more the fabric lets water vapour generated by body movements escape, therefore the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9<RET<12 = very breathable fabric / 12<RET<20 = breathable fabric / RET>20 = little or no breathability.
Component durability
Resistance to wear test: for example, we check that fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in the laboratory. Colour retention test: colour fastness is verified to make sure that the colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing should not alter the fabric's properties, behaviour, thickness or appearance.
Wind breaking effect
Coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. Waterproof fabric has the necessary technical characteristics to be considered windproof. Protection from the wind is critical, as whether playing sports or at rest, wind can chill the body significantly.

Product environmental impact comparison score
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. An overall rating of ABCDE is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (t-shirts, trousers and backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): rip-tabs closed, mild detergent. Wash jackets and trousers inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment too much in the washing machine, as: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix the clothing styles and the colours. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6/ Drying option: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
