Zip constantly catches and the cord adjustment on the bottom of the jacket to tighten it has broken after only 1 week use. Terrible build quality.

    Great Jacket for the price

I actually bought this jacket because I can roll it up & put it in my bag when we go mountain biking, because it keeps the wind & rain out.
Tried it out in the wind this weekend riding in North Wales.
    Did the job quite nicely.

    Hiking Rain Jacket

I am a guide of Holocaust / Shoah sites travelling to the Baltic (from Israel). I travel very light and this product is a Godsend. Ideal for my needs. Has already provided protection in inclement weather. Brilliant.

Storage Tips
Always make sure that this waterproof protective garment is completely dry before storing it.

Waterproof garment
This garment passed a 60L/m²/hr shower test lasting 1hr. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower. This jacket's fabric is water repellent: this is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. This is accomplished by treating the outer surface of the fabric. What's more, the main seams that are most exposed to the rain are taped.
How to maintain the waterproofing of your jacket over the long term
The fabric's water repellent properties must be reactivated in order to preserve long-lasting effective waterproofing: we recommend that this is done every 3 washes or after wearing a dozen times in the rain. After washing, the garment must be thoroughly rinsed, after which the water repellent properties can be easily reactivated by warming: for a short period of time in a tumble dryer or with a hair-dryer, for example. You will find all our tips in the maintenance manual of this product sheet.
Additional recommended products
Raincut over-trousers for protecting the lower body as well, so that you can have a complete outfit that offers highly effective protection against wind and showers.
Waterproof rating expressed in mm or Schmerber
We measure a fabric's capacity to support a column of water expressed in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm means that the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = fabric is not breathable or has low breathability.
Environmental measures
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type with each other (T-shirts, trousers and backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For further information:
