Very warm

A very warm jacket for the price. A bit confused by some of the more negative reviews. The jacket does not proclaim to be robustly waterproof which is normal for this type of product. For energetic out door activity it would be far too warm. The comment about clumping of down may be true if the cleaning instructions are not adhered to. I'd see this as a great jacket for keeping warm when not moving ie camping, waiting for buses trains etc.

    Excellent coat

The coat is well sized very light and warm workman ship is excellent. Only thing is that not as warm as stated but still warm enough and I don't know how sturdy the coat will be for mountain use but overall great coat.

Fill Power of the down/feather filling
For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or more. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation and its potential to "trap" air. The greater the loft of the down (i.e. the higher the CUIN number), the more space it occupies, thereby trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. Which makes your backpack lighter - Ultra-compressible *Our feathers come from Chinese ducks raised for their meat, we collect their feathers after they have been killed.
Care instructions for jackets filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking the link below:

In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows water droplets to roll off the fabric, which delays the time it takes for water to penetrate the down jacket, giving you time to seek shelter. The shoulders and hood of the down jacket, which are more exposed to the rain, are waterproof. However, we advise you to wear a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
