Care instructions
Use the brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Always brush in the same direction to give nubuck its original look. The use of cream or waterproof grease on split leather is not recommended. It's not a problem as such, but could change the aesthetics of the shoe.
Storage Tips
Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place.
Restricted use
Not suitable for mountaineering.

Waterproofing test
Footwear waterproofing test: laboratory and field-tested shoes with a breathable, waterproof membrane to ensure optimum protection from the rain. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm, half immersed in water, which simulates walking, in order to test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing
In our waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (approx. 4 km of walking), 4000 flexes (approx. 8 km of walking) and 8000 flexes (approx. 16 km of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
Waterproofing level
The TREK 100 shoe is validated in the impermeability test at 8000 flexes, i.e. 16 km of walking in water up to the mid-upper.
Lab tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - torn hooks and eyelets - bonding of the sole - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and of the components of the upper - accelerated aging.
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, standing up, wearing hiking socks. Try several styles and sizes, if required. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Wear your shoes in gradually during the first hikes, to mould them to your foot.
