Tips

Care instructions
To ensure materials retain their properties (especially waterproofing), we recommend you do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry-clean, or bleach your backpack. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, use warm soapy water and a brush if needed. After a few years of use, you should renew the water repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.
Storage Tips
Store the backpack in a dry place.
Restricted use
Not waterproof; protect your belongings in case of rain.

Features

Laboratory tests
We conduct laboratory test to approve the components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foams, zips, etc. Example, for a fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour-fastness under UV rays, washing, waterproofing... A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: the backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy which then reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
10-year warranty, technical partnership
The Strenfit component brand, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. The results are used be Quechua and Strenfit to guarantee the tested bags for 10 years from the purchase date on the till receipt.
10-year warranty, conditions
The warranty covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial warranty does not affect any statutory rights applicable in the country of purchase.
How is the volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment and each pocket with little balls. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
How to adjust your backpack?
1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit on top of the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 - Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
How to pack my backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place the heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Make sure that the rainproof jacket and/or fleece is easily accessible. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The hydration pack should be placed in the compartment provided along the back.
Environmental measurements
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the product's complete lifespan according to various indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
