    Trek 500 Gloves

Although I haven't tried these gloves out yet I am quite pleased the build quality is very good there are soft shell glove which means they'll be reasonably quite water-resistant or water and you can waterproof them with softshell proof if you want to but I don't think there be any need but for the price they're excellent

Needed some gloves that weren’t to bulky for when I referee youth football on a Sunday. These seem to meet the requirements when I tried them on at the store. Have used them several times and very impressed with there flexibility and keeping my hands warm on cold Sunday mornings

Don't keep in warmth + not good on screens

Rather disappointing in terms of warmth - don't seem to insulate much and a cold breeze will go right through them. Have even tried leaving them on the radiator - became cold in seconds once out.

Touch screens section don't work very well - Ok initially but quickly loses effectiveness (unless you dampen the tips)

    Brand's answer :

    Hi Dafydd,

I am sorry to hear that you did not feel that the Trek 500 Mountain Gloves were warm enough. The gloves are designed for temperatures ranging from 9°C to 4°C so perhaps the conditions were in fact too cold for the gloves to be effective. If the level of insulation remains a problem please get in touch with our online customer service team (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/contact-us.html) or visit your local store so that we can find the best solution for you. I will also pass on your feedback concerning the touch screen responsiveness to our design team.

Storage Tips
Store in a clean and dry place.

Adapted clothing
The body produces heat during exercise, which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothing is unfit for this purpose, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to keep the central core warm. The gloves and clothing should therefore be adapted for use to keep hands comfortable. If you're not sure, it's always best to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
Recommended temperature = 9°C
Corresponds to the ambient temperature that 100% of testers considered acceptable. This is 9°C for these gloves
Limit temperature = 4°C
Corresponds to the ambient temperature that 90% of testers considered acceptable. This is 4°C for these gloves.
How is the use temperature measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum usage temperatures. The minimum use temperatures (recommended and limits) are based on a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in walking situations exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and wind of 10 km/h. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
Dexterity of the glove
The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been scored in the laboratory on a scale of 1 to 5. The nearer the glove's dexterity rating gets to 5, the closer the manipulation when wearing the glove gets to that of a bare hand. In particular, we tested the ability to easily put on and open your jacket.
