Our design team is based at the foot of Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). . These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.
To ensure the highest standards of quality, our products are subjected to a stringent series of tests. In the laboratory, these trials put our components to the test: resistance to abrasion, rust… As well as testing our finished products for: waterproof properties of tents under the shower and the durability of backpacks in the "jerk test". In the field, the trials are designed to confirm, for example, the level of comfort of a duvet, the living conditions of a tent, the cushioning of a shoe…

Practical details
2 hand pockets with rip-tab fastening, zipped half opening, elasticated cuffs and waist
Fabric is made waterproof and windproof by applying a coating or membrane to the inside. Waterproof fabric has the necessary technical characteristics to be considered windproof. Protection from the wind is critical, as whether playing sports or at rest, wind can chill the body significantly.
Specific tests
Materials used in children's clothing: the colour fastness is verified to make sure that the colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva.
Waterproofing tests on the component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed as a water column of mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the greater the waterproof properties of the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can withstand the pressure of a column of 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a shower lasting one hour).
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): fasten rip-tabs and use mild detergent. Wash jackets and trousers inside out. Loosen the straps and elasticated parts. 2/ Do not fold the garment too much in the machine: risk of wear. 3/ Do not mix different clothing types and colours. 5/ Do not bleach. 6/ Select a long rinse and gentle spin.
Either: line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle). Caution: Don't leave treated garments on a source of heat such as a radiator, as this may damage the breathable membrane or coating.
A score to help compare products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated across its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
