The resistance of a fabric is measured at a water pressure expressed in mm of a water tube (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproofing of 2000 mm resists therefore the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (which corresponds approximately to a downpour of one hour). Waterproofing is expressed in schmerbers (for example: 2000 schmerbers).
Technologies: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more the fabric lets out the water vapor generated by an active body, so the more it is breathable. For example: RET <9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathable fabric.
Can be stored in its pocket, and worn tight to the body, at the beltline. Central zip opening, hood, elasticated wrists and waistband
Durability of components:
Resistance to wear test: for example, we check that the fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Colour retention test: the colour fastness is verified to make sure that the colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Ageing test: Repeated washing must not alter the properties of the fabric, its shape, thickness or appearance.
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): Hook and loop fasteners, soft wash. Wash jackets and trousers inside out. Loosen the straps and elasticated parts. 2/ Do not fold the garment too much in the machine: Risk of deterioration.3/ Do not mix clothing styles and colours.5/ Do not bleach.6/ Select a copious rinse and a gentle spin. Choose: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle). https://youtu.be/vCHVDyRwh3o
