To help you dress effectively, Quechua - in partnership with Stratermic and Oxylane Research - provides you with recommended usage temperatures for its "extreme cold" product lines. Tests are carried out in an environmental chamber to measure the thermal insulating properties of products on a dummy. These results are complemented by physiological research carried out by Oxylane Research teams to calculate the sensation of hot/cold as if in real world use.
winter hikers seeking protection from rain, wind and intense cold, wanting to adjust level of warmth according to exertion level.
Wash at 30°C. Use liquid detergent; do not add fabric conditioner. Fasten zips and rip-tabs before washing. Apply a special treatment to restore the waterproofing after every 3 washes. All our Decathlon stores offer a complete range of products specially designed to care for water-resistant and breathable fabrics. These products will help you optimise your garment's performance throughout its lifespan.
Always make sure that this waterproof protective garment is completely dry before storing it.
Fairly close-fitting cut. Sized so that it can be worn over a warm second layer such as a pullover, gilet, down jacket or fleece when desired.
Removable; adjustable height using an elastic drawcord and toggles. Depth adjustable using a rip-tab. Wadded quilting provides good insulation from the cold. Fitted visor provides face protection.

Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. We recommend using these products with each wash.
How the recommended temperature is measured
Ambient temperature is thermally neutral: the user feels neither hot nor cold. Use temperature, in accordance with standard ISO 11079, under the following conditions: Walking at 4 km/h, no wind, cloudy. Jacket worn together with: upper body: long-sleeved T-shirt + shirt + sleeveless down gilet / lower body: tights + fleece base layer + trousers / head: chapka + hood / hands: under-gloves + gloves / feet: ski socks + boots.
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
Advanced Technologies®: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity is evaporated, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9<RET<12 = very breathable fabric / 12<RET<20 = breathable fabric / RET>20 = little or no breathability.
Water repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be repeated throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated across its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is attributed to help you more readily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
