PRODUCT TEST Our design team is based at the foot of Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are beautiful, simple and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.
Tests
We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: a test on our fleece's fabric or a test on the thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. We reproduce the temperature, wind (5 km/h) and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains when walking at 5 km/h. These tests are used to validate our design choices. In this way, we can tailor the thermal insulation to the areas most exposed to the cold.

Features

SIZING AND FIT INFORMATION
Close-fitting feminine cut. This jacket is sized to be worn with a warm second layer, such as a light down jacket or fleece, underneath.
POCKET SYSTEM
Outer: 2 pockets under the flaps that close with press-studs, lined with fleece that is very soft and very warm for the hands. Inside: 1 secure pocket closed with a zip.
JACKET HEM DRAWCORD
Elastic draw-cords and toggles.
WRIST ADJUSTMENT
Velcro tab fasteners.
WATERPROOF COMPONENT
We test a fabric's resistance to water pressure by measuring the height of a column of water supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure supported by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. Components with a 2000 mm waterproof rating can support the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours.
WATERPROOFING OF THE GARMENT
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a rain shower in winter.
COMPONENT WATER REPELLENT PROPERTY
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to repel water, allowing it to slide over its surface. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment.
COMPONENT BREATHABILITY
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9<RET<12 = very breathable fabric / 12<RET<20 = breathable fabric / RET>20 = little or no breathability.
RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL PRODUCT
Care products: waterproof spray or liquid in the machine to renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifetime of your garment.
PRODUCT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT COMPARISON SCORE
The environmental impact of each product is calculated for the product's entire life cycle, using different indicators. A general ABCDE rating is attributed to help you identify the product with the best environmental performance by comparing similar types of product to each other (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
