WATER REPELLENT PROPERTIES INFO
NB: this product is not WATERPROOF. The water repellent treatment prevents the trousers from getting wet too quickly but it will not keep you dry under normal rainfall. You would have to wear over-trousers for full waterproof protection. Reactivate the water repellent properties by drying in a tumble dryer (delicate cycle)
WINDPROOF DETAILS
Protection from the wind, when moving or stationary, is very important because of its powerful cooling effect on the body. According to the "wind chill" model that measures the perceived temperature due to the wind and cold: when the air temperature is 5°C and the wind speed is 30 km/h, the perceived temperature will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and the wind speed is 30 km/h, the perceived temperature will be -6°C. The materials used in our products help to reduce this wind chill effect
SIZING AND FIT INFORMATION
These trousers have a sporty, close-fitting cut. The stretch fabric provides excellent freedom of movement.
DURABILITY OF THE COMPONENTS
Abrasion and friction resistance test: for example, we check that the fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Colour fastness test: the colour fastness is verified to make sure that the colours do not bleed when in contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing should not affect the properties of the fabric, its behaviour, thickness or appearance.
* WARMTH OF THE MATERIAL
* Comparative study conducted in the laboratory under walking conditions with a slight wind (5 km/h). These products are tested as an outfit with shoes, socks, trousers, a base layer, a second layer and a third layer, which are all tailored for hiking in cold weather on snow-covered terrain. However, every individual feels the cold differently.
COMPONENT BREATHABILITY
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9<RET<12 = very breathable fabric / 12<RET<20 = breathable fabric / RET>20 = little or no breathability.
A rating to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing them with other products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. Web: sustainability.decathlon.com Explanation video: https://youtu.be/8t63KkRwn_8
