Quechua is based at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our design teams create and develop products that are appealing, simple and technologically advanced. We then test them in the field in collaboration with our technical partners and mountain professionals under the most stringent conditions. Indeed, we believe that the only way to continually improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience in use.

Recommended additional product
Care products: spray or liquid to reactivate water repellent properties. To restore the water repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of the garment throughout its life. We recommend using these products with each wash.
Thermal comfort and wind-proofing
Wind considerably decreases the perceived temperature. With an outside temperature of 0°C and 20 km/h winds, the perceived temperature is -10°C. So-called "windproof" components help eliminate the discomfort associated with this "freezing effect". They are very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.
Water repellent items (above all not to be confused with impermeability)
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be restored throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). We sell products for this purpose in our stores. All Quechua Softshell items have received a water-repellent treatment.
A note to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is allocated to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information:
