    Fab little jacket

Cosy, snug jacket. Very well made and fits nicely under a waterproof coat. Kept me warm this winter. Have got 2 so can wear one whilst the other gets washed

    Fab. Sizing small though

Great lightweight warm down jacket. Great for hiking and can be stuffed into small bag and popped into waist pack taking up little room. I found sizing off. Size 12/14 normally, tried on 4 size large jackets and only one i was able to zip up over hips. Size Xl jacket was massive in comparison to large.

    Great jacket

Worked perfectly under a Gore Tex wind proof jacket in Artic Norway and Sweden.

All our quilted jackets have been laboratory tested on thermal mannequins in 5 km/h winds, reproducing a hike with moderate exertion. This allows you to make the right choice by comparing the level of thermal insulation on a scale of 1 to 5.
Tests
Thermal chamber test It allows us to validate our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather impermeability test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. All our fabrics are thus "featherproof" to ensure you get lasting warmth.

Tips

Care instructions
Looking after jackets made with down requires special attention. We recommend using specialist dry cleaning services for the care of your down jacket. Washing: Machine wash 30°C; add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic programme with 3 tennis balls to ventilate the down; put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, losing insulating power. See the care instructions in the online guide
Storage Tips
Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place
Restricted use
Not suitable for hiking in rainy weather

Features

NEW FOR 2016
The X-Light offers 1 TECHNOLOGY (Bodymapping) in 3 MODELS: X-light 1, X-Light 2 and X-Light 3. Available in 9 colours, offering you a wide range of choice.
Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the down jacket)
The durable and inflating properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This enables less weight to be carried in the rucksack - Ultra compressible * Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat, we collect the feathers after their slaughter.
The advantages of synthetic down filling (for the arms, sides and hood)
Synthetic down (wadded) filling provides an appealing alternative to feather down: - it provides good thermal insulation even when wet - it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)
Care advice for a down jacket filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the year and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the below link: <a href="http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket" target="_blank"><img src="https://d1065et7n9hdcp.cloudfront.net/__imageservlet/file/damimport/pj/024/d14728101586210/doudoune_plume_hommz.jpg?variation=thumbnailReal" alt="How to wash and dry your down jacket ?"><br>http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket</a>
In case of rain
The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric which delays the penetration of water into the quilted jacket while you get out of the rain. But the quilted jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the quilted jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to the rain.
Note regarding the light colour versions
The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the light grey and yellow colour versions of the range.
