protection from the cold on your MOUNTAIN HIKES. Tested for optimum comfort between - 15°C and -20°C.
Looking after jackets made with down requires special attention. We recommend using specialist dry cleaning services for the care of your down jacket. Washing: Machine wash 30°C; add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic programme with 3 tennis balls to ventilate the down; put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, losing insulating power. See the care instructions in the online guide

Inflating Power of down/feather filling
This 85/15 padded gilet has a guaranteed minimum fill power of 660 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The durable and inflating properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This enables less weight to be carried in the rucksack - Ultra compressible * Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat, we collect the feathers after their slaughter.
Care advice for a down jacket filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the below link: <a href="http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.quechua.fr/sites/quechua_com/files/image-entretien-doudoune.jpg" alt="How to wash and dry your down jacket"><br>http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket</a>
In case of rain
The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric which delays the penetration of water into the quilted jacket while you get out of the rain. But the quilted jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the quilted jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to the rain.
