Our young teams of testers based at the foot of the Mont Blanc and our Research and Development laboratory, which is responsible for selecting the best components.
Our design team is based at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are beautiful, simple and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.
protecting your child from rain and wind when hiking in cold weather.
Best stored on a hanger; avoid folding, which can damage the coating. Ensure garment is completely dry before storing in dry and ventilated place.
The benefits of "ball fibre" synthetic wadding
The "ball fibre" wadding is an effective alternative to feathers: - like feathers, it is composed of multiple fibres that are very good at trapping the air inside, thereby providing insulation from the cold - it offers good thermal insulation, even when wet - it is easy to maintain: machine wash and tumble dry However, it will be heavier and less compressible than a garment filled with feathers
What do you mean by a waterproof jacket?
The resistance of a fabric to water seepage. This is measured using an approved water pressure test. Knowing that the average water pressure of rain varies from 1000 mm to 2000 mm, a fabric is considered waterproof above 2000 mm. Our products resist pressure from 2000 to 10,000 mm. They are therefore very waterproof and suited to even the most extreme weather conditions.
What do you mean by sealed seams or waterproof strips?
These sealed (or taped) seams are closed with waterproof thermo-sealed strips. They are placed behind the seams and are essential for waterproofing clothing so that water cannot enter through capillarity (water being absorbed by the threads and holes of the fabric).
Removable fur on the hood for easy maintenance.
A score to help compare products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated across its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
Fabric is made waterproof and windproof by applying a coating or membrane to the inside. Waterproof fabric has the necessary technical characteristics to be considered windproof. Protection from the wind is critical, as whether playing sports or at rest, wind can chill the body significantly.
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): fasten rip-tabs and use mild detergent. Wash inside out. Loosen the straps and elasticated parts. 2/ Do not fold the garment too much in the machine: this can cause wear. 3/ Do not mix different clothing types and colours. 4/ Do not bleach. 5/ Wash on a long rinse and gentle spin. 6/ Do not dry clean.
